And, rightfully so. For 50 years, George Sanders of Tampa has been a godsend to the international organization.

TAMPA - The disaster-relief agency wants to have one large, central location to store supplies and ship them out as needed.

The Salvation Army has purchased land in north Tampa to build its first full-service disaster-relief warehouse in the state

TAMPA - Hundreds of Tampa area businesses and residents gave on this yuletide so 7,000 needy youngsters would have toys.

The lines Wednesday into the Florida National Guard Armory on Howard Avenue were shorter than for Tuesday, the opening of the Salvation Army's two-day annual Christmas toy giveaway. But the smiles of parents were just as wide.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Never is need more great than in times of disaster. When disaster strikes, volunteers, soldiers and officers of the Salvation Army are readily available to serve independently in emergencies or cooperatively in major disasters with other private and public disaster relief organizations. The Salvation Army cooperates with all federal, state and local agencies that have responsibility for helping disaster victims.

Club donates $1,000 to Salvation Army Good morning!

The Cosmopolitan Club of Tampa presented a check for $1,000 to the Salvation Army recently. Acting Vice President Helen Rhodes of Town 'N Country and President Charline Stuart of Carrollwood gave the check to Mary Miller, president of the Salvation Army Auxiliary.
